New space

The roof is now complete and the upstairs has been cleared of rubbish and debris. Wall inside and out have been done up ready for painting and the windows are coming soon to complete the work. Look at how much extra space has been created with the new roof – the white wall shows the outline of the previous walls and ceiling.

Cloudy day over the BayCloudy day over the Bay Hosted on Zooomr

I took Dad today out on Chapman’s Peak Drive, down past Noordhoek and then back over the Tokai and to Constantia for lunch. It wasn’t a great day weather-wise, but the clouds added to the mood in this photo of the Sentinel peak, on the West end of Hout Bay.

Driving along between Hout Bay and Camps bay I managed to catch a decent shot of Camps Bay from afar.

Matias got rats for his birthday and so everyone was happily playing with the new additions to the family. This is my favourite shot, of Milja holding ‘Basil’.

Llandudno beach. A group of us came to the beach, some to swim, some to bodyboard, some to play and dig in the sand. It was hot and we were in the shade of the rocks that line the beach. Photo by Milja of India and I walking to the water to test how cold it was. It was very cold.

Scared at RatangaScared at Ratanga Hosted on Zooomr

Ratanga Junction is the theme park here in Cape Town. We went today as it is closing tomorrow for Autumn. We waited for hours in queues, but we still had a good time. This photo is with Milja, Harrison and Matias on ‘Monkey Falls’, a log flume ride with a rather large and long drop at the end.

The roof is finished and it looks great upstairs. Just inside to fix up now.

Llandudno beach is a popular spot for surfers. The small community is built onto the hills leading up from the beach and follows the single road up to the main pass between Hout Bay and Cape Town. The water is freezing, and it is hard to stay in for longer than 30 minutes even with a wetsuit. These surfers seemed to be surviving OK, although there weren’t many big waves today.

Slowly does it

I let the dogs out the front door this morning and noticed this snail on the wall just outside. He was slowly making his way along the top of the wall towards the greenery on the otherside.
